My parents moved me to Cheatham County in 1976. Except for the years when I was in college, I have lived in Ashland City my entire life. While some may see that as a narrow life experience, there is nothing further from the truth. I graduated from Cheatham County High School in 1994 and then attended Middle Tennessee State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Waste Management. After interning with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, I went on to work with the Cheatham County Solid Waste Department as the Recycling Coordinator. In that role, I was responsible for litter prevention and recycling education for the county.
After working for the County for six years, I attended Nashville School of Law to become an attorney. While in law school, I worked at both a title company and a creditors rights law firm. When I finished law school, I worked as a solo practitioner for five years until I became a public school teacher. I taught Criminal Justice at Whites Creek High School for five years. As a teacher, I oversaw the Youth Court program and the Mock Trial team.
I am now making permanent professional roots in Cheatham County and have opened an office on the square in Ashland City. I am ready to put my diverse experience to work for my hometown where I live with my husband, my two children still at home, my two children out of the house, and my two grandchildren.
